No evidence linking suspect to killing of five homeless people, says NPA

The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) has confirmed that there is no evidence linking a suspect arrested in connection with the attack of a homeless person in Tshwane, Gauteng, to recent killings of five homeless people that occurred in the area.

The 40-year-old suspect was arrested after he allegedly stabbed the victim in Muckleneuk in May. This is the same area where the bodies of five homeless people

NPA spokesperson Phindi Mjonondwane said that the suspect appeared in the Pretoria Magistrates Court on Monday.

Mjonondwane said that there is no evidence that links the suspect to the killings.

“There’s no evidence that links to the accused person to the five murder of the homeless people.”
