A 41-year-old man is expected to appear court on Wednesday in connection with the alleged murder of his 35-year-old girlfriend.
The suspect was arrested on Tuesday.
According to reports, the 35-year-old victim was last seen with the suspect on Saturday, July 6. After not returning home, her family reported her missing on July 21.
The police intervened when the community of Matlhoding, outside Tshidilamolomo, became suspicious of the suspect and started questioning him.
It was then discovered that the suspect allegedly killed and buried the victim in a shallow grave at a farm where they worked.
Information led the police to the farm, where he allegedly buried the victim.
The badly decomposed body was discovered, exhumed from the shallow grave and taken to the local mortuary.
He is expected to make his first appearance in the Bray Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday.
