The singer has added a line-up of the best female artists in the industry to join her on her first-ever tour, RoseFest.
Speaking to SA Breaking News, Shekhinah said that while she's extremely excited to finally be doing her very own show, she cannot help but feel a bit nervous.
"I'm so nervous and also excited at the same time," she said.
Shekhinah said that while she has had the idea for a while, putting the show together and making it happen was a lot of work.
"This one really took forever. I think I always wanted to do it since I dropped the album in 2017 but logistics never allowed it because we were always gigging and trying to promote the album and trying to be where everyone wanted us to be," she said.
"I then started to plan RoseFest at the end of 2017 in preparation for March 2018. This then didn't happen, so then we tried to plan it for November 2018 and then this didn't work and then another date was discussed and that also never worked out. And now it's finally happening in August."
Artists that will be joining the Suited hitmaker on stage include Sho Majozi, Busiswa, DJ Zinhle, Moonchild Sanelly and more.
Talking about the lineup, Shekhinah said that since RoseFest was happening on Women's Day she wanted to do something special for the women of Mzansi.
"I didn't really see it that way at first. I just knew that it was going to be women's day. Then I thought that since it is going to be Women's Day, then we should not only celebrate my success, we should celebrate everyone else's success."
Shekhinah let SABN know that the artists that will be performing at RoseFest are artists who she admires in the industry.
"In all honesty, these are artists whom I have bumped into and who I personally like and who is on my playlist."
The singer let the cat out the bag and said that there will definitely be surprises that fans can look forward to on Friday.
When asked if she would be taking RoseFest to Durban and Cape Town, Shekhinah said that Durban will get to experience Rosefest on October 12. Unfortunately, Cape Town will not be so lucky.
"I don't think I can do Cape Town as well. Already trying to do Durban was a mission," she said.
RoseFest takes place at the Nasrec Expo Centre in Johannesburg on Friday, August 9.
