Recent Orlando Pirates signing Siphesihle Ndlovu says he treats sitting on the bench like not being alive and it inspires him to take his chance when it comes.
Ndlovu has yet to make his debut for the Sea Robbers since arriving from Maritzburg United ahead of the 2019/20 campaign.
He wasn't selected to play in the Carling Black Label Cup final victory over Kaizer Chiefs, and remained on the bench during last weekend's 3-1 Premiership win over Bloemfontein Celtic.
Nonetheless, the 22-year-old is optimistic he can make an impact when his opportunity does finally arrive.
He told Kickoff: "The good thing is that I made the team [against Celtic] and being there feels good.
"But the people I'm competing with they've been doing well and I also feel they deserve it. For me it's just to wait for my chance and make my debut victorious.
"[They are] Motivating me to stay focused every day because we have a lot of games and they can need my capabilities anytime. So when that happens I gotta be ready.
"Yes yes yes, looking at them last season they were flying and strong to break. So I knew before I even came here and you can't fix what is not broken. For me it's like Death, you prepare yourself and everything for it, Right? Sitting there means be prepared all the time, and it shows there's something good I've been doing throughout the pre-season."
