It's that time again! Winter Wonderland 2019 is back and this time young designers featured in this year's fashion show are getting ready to own the ramp!

Speaking to SA Breaking News, Kairos Model agency manager CJ Jackson said that the theme of this year's show is 'Own the Ramp'.

"This comes into full effect with the work we are doing with our models and designers in order for the show to be a success. This year, Winter Wonderland is focusing on the people involved in the show and developing them within the industry," he said.

Jackson said that Winter Wonderland 2019 will be a bit different from previous shows as they have decided to give back to the models and designers taking part in the fashion show.

"Traditionally, Winter Wonderland is based around charity and previous years we have sponsored a specific charity. Last year the charity that WWL supported was Heart of Hope and we worked with this charity for a whole year in order to raise funds and awareness for them. This year, we are taking our charity closer to home and giving back to the models and designers taking part."

He went on to say that young models and designers in Cape Town especially "struggle to get a foothold in the industry".

Jackson also let us know that over 15 designers will be taking part in this year's show.

"We (Kairos and Winter Wonderland) will be working with all of the people involved in the show in the weeks coming up to the show to develop their skills and enhance their chances of becoming successful in the modelling or fashion industry. This year we have over 15 designers taking part, many of whom it will be their first time showcasing their collections on the runway and who are working incredibly hard to put on an amazing show for our guests."

"As always, Kairos and Winter Wonderland are committed to promoting body positivity and you will find models of all shapes and sizes walking the runway."

Jackson said that guests attending the event can expect the same energy they are used to but with even more "drama, even more, elegance and a few surprises along the way".

"We want our guests to have the opportunity to see fashion where conservative boundaries are broken, fashion for a sustainable future and a platform that expresses the reality of individuality, showcasing the incredible diversity Cape Town is famous for," he said.

Winter Wonderland 2019 takes place on September 14 at the Kenilworth Racecourse in Cape Town.
