After several postponements, producer and director Lineo Sekeleoane much-anticipated rom-com, Zulu Wedding, is finally making it's way to cinemas.
Initially set for release in April 20, 2018, Zulu Wedding will now open in cinemas nationwide on October 11, 2019.
Speaking to City Press, Lineo said that Capitec getting behind the film ensured the release of the film.
“Capitec came on board and saved the day. They recognised the vision and could relate to it as they too had done the ‘impossible’ and they wanted us to get to the finish line without having to compromise what we were trying to accomplish,” said Sekeleoane.
Zulu Wedding is the first South African film to boast a black female producer and director.
The film is unashamedly romantic, glamorous and hilarious all at the same time and pays loving tribute to the richness of African culture.
It acknowledges the, sometimes schizophrenic, reality of many urban South Africans who live sophisticated modern lives which are nonetheless shaped by their family cultures, traditions and expectations.
The cast is filled with names that raise excitement levels, including the handsome Pallance Dladla and Darrin Dewitt-Henson, and beauties such as Kelly Khumalo and Nondumiso Tembe.
